IVF is a lengthy and tedious process, yet couples undergo the treatments in order to have a child. The recommendation of an IVF treatment in itself is a thought provoking and nervous process as it takes time, money and a lot of emotional strength to undergo it. All in all, if you finally decide to undergo the treatment, there are some things to be considered which you can do to make your one chance to the treatment a successful one. There have been higher success rates noted in an IVF treatment but there have been a number of unsuccessful cases over the years as well.

You can note and consider on the following aspects to try and make you chances and attempt a successful one. There is very little you can do but put in your best to make it plenty.

  • Exercise: Exercising time to time ensures that your hormone levels are balanced and your body mass index (BMI) stays appropriate. A woman’s BMI should be between 20 to 25, which can be levelled through regular and proper exercise. It is meant for both men and women before undergoing an IVF treatment. It helps in reducing stress as well. Do not strain your body when the treatment begins and make sure that you keep your exercise mild and light during the process.
  • Diet and nutrition: Make sure that you consume a well balanced diet with equal proportions of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, as it is will ultimately affect the health of the baby. There are certain fertility diets which will help in proper blood quality production and flow to your uterus, which will result in normal and healthy birth of the child.
  • Supplements: Consult a physician and start taking appropriate amount of supplements consisting of essential vitamins, minerals and other nutrients. Defect of certain nutrients can result in birth defects, which should be taken care of from prior notice. Other important nutrients include iron, fatty acids, zinc and magnesium.
  • Emotional support: You need to talk to your partner and family and talk about all questions, worries and problems troubling you. Being honest at this stage will help clear doubts and reach to a conclusion easily. It will also relieve stress and you can undergo the treatment without being frightened or afraid.
  • Quit smoking and alcohol: Not only recommended for an IVF treatment, quitting smoking and drinking is helpful for normal conceiving of a child as well. It reduces the sperm quality in men and affects the womb lining in women. Drinking has adverse effects on child birth as well as it reduces the risk of child birth defects and miscarriages. Quitting these habits can result in higher pregnancy chances and normal child birth.

You should not be worried about other treatment aspects as there is very little that you can do in it. You should consider the above tips and the most important of them all is to make sure that you improve your health to achieve a positive and successful result.
