The best care for a liver is to avoid any kind of stress that can be caused to liver. Following are the ways that can help you achieve a lively Liver:-

  1. The right weight as per your body physique is a primary need for a healthy liver. If you are obese or even a little overweight than the required, you are susceptible to a fatty liver that can lead to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), one of the fastest growing forms of liver disease.
  2. Balanced diet is a prevention of many diseases. Avoid foods with high calories, saturated fats, refined carbohydrates in the form of white bread, white rice etc. and sugars. Hydration is equally important so drink a lot of water.
  3. Regular exercise brings consistency in body health. It helps to burn the triglycerides for fuel and even can reduce liver fat.
  4. Avoid toxins as they injure liver cells. Avoid any kind of direct contact with toxins from cleaning and aerosol products, insecticides, chemicals, and additives. Also quit smoking or keep away from it.
  5. Being responsible with alcohol is very important for it can lead to many health problems. It can damage, destroy the liver cells and can even scar your liver. Consult your Doctor immediately on this.
  6. Avoid the use of illicit drugs for they completely ruin the liver functioning. Illicit drugs includes hashish, cocaine (even crack), heroin, hallucinogens, inhalants, or prescription-type psychotherapeutics like, pain relievers, tranquilizers, stimulants, and sedatives etc, that are consumed used non-medically.
  7. Avoid contaminated needles for these can penetrate any kind of infections in your body. Unsafe injection practices although rare but may occur in a medical setting. Also use only clean needles for tattoos and body piercings.
  8. Get medical care if you’re exposed to blood, due to any reason you have come into contact with someone else’s blood, immediately follow up with your doctor. If you are very concerned visit the emergency of the nearest hospital.
  9. Never share personal hygiene items, like razors, toothbrushes, towels nail clippers etc. as these can carry microscopic levels of blood or other body fluids that may be contaminated.
  10. Practice safe sex by avoiding unprotected sex or sex with multiple partners, as it increases the risk of hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
  11. Wash your hands, whenever you get exposed to or come in contact with unclean environ.
  12. Right medication practice should be followed, with respect to dosage, timing and method, for this can be harmful. Mixing any two undesirable drugs or taking untimed medication, can be harmful. So always tell your Doctor about your running, counter or complimentary medication.
  13. Get vaccinated, for diseases like hepatitis A and hepatitis B. Unfortunately, there’s no vaccine against the hepatitis C virus.
