1. Avoid garlic and onions
If you are about to go on a first dinner date and find yourself worrying about your breath, try not to order foods that have the potential to sour your breath. The substances in garlic and onions that cause unpleasant odors can travel into your bloodstream and your lungs, where you breathe them out—therefore, causing bad breath. Pick Chinese food, instead of Italian for your special night. It will be worth it for you and your date.

2. Scrape your tongue with your toothbrush every night
The coating that normally forms on your tongue from the food you eat can bring about nasty bacteria. Ultimately, this can cause bad breath and harm to your gums and teeth. Each night, gently scrape your tongue with your toothbrush to get rid of the germs.

3. Use mouthwash
