Infections are such a bore especially when they bring our daily lives to a halt. These infections, however, are never that serious and can easily be controlled through medication. The fascinating thing about them though is that they can be kept at bay with little effort. The following are some of the changes that we can incorporate in our lives as prevention from seasonal infections.
- Hand washing
Keeping our hands clean can never be overstated. We come in contact with numerous objects during the course of the day that harbor millions of germs. Therefore, when handling food with unwashed hands, we are at a risk of transferring these infectious germs to our moths which may later lead to the triggering of several diseases and allergies. We should, therefore, wash our hands regularly or sanitize them using hand sanitizers. - Regular Exercising
Exercising regularly not only helps in toning our bodies and keeping us fit. When we exercise, we greatly improve the circulation in our bodies as well as making it possible for stored toxins to be flushed out through sweat. This greatly helps us avoid certain diseases and infections. - Getting enough sleep
Sleeping is the only way our bodies get to recover, therefore, becoming stronger. Inadequate sleep weakens our immune system over time which in effect makes us prone to contracting infections that we would have rather avoided. - Having home cooked meals
Having home-cooked meals ensures that the food we allow into our bodies is highly hygienic. During the peak of infections, many people easily get infected from the food they eat outside especially along the streets and side stalls. It is also very important to properly wash vegetable and fruits that we buy from the market before consuming them. - Drinking a lot of water
Flu causing bacteria can be flushed out by lots of drinking water. It is, therefore, very important that we drink at least 2-3 liters of water a day. It is also very important to note that we should ensure that the water we drink is clean, thus we should avoid taking tap water. - Keeping away from crowded places
Viruses that cause flu are airborne in nature, therefore, they can enter a person’s body through their nose and throat. As protection, it is important to keep off crowded places during the peak of infection as the virus can easily be transferred to you. - Avoid the sharing of personal items
Personal items such as handkerchiefs, razors, towels, nail clips, and much more easily get contaminated. This makes it very easy for them to be an agent of spreading some infection-causing pathogens when shared between people. It is, therefore, important to avoid sharing items of such nature.
